Hey readers of head in the soundclouds. I really love the track i’m about to show you today and I’m certain you’re going to feel the same. It comes from wondrous Maere, entitled ‘Redroom’.
‘Red Room’ is an alternative R&B single, there’s a number of things that make this track brilliant. The slick and sleek production, harmonious sonic sound, perfectly balanced with stunning vocals.
Influenced by the likes of Syd, Kelela and FKA Twigs. Maere have definitely nailed the alternative R&B sound and made it their own. Maere have created a sound that will resonate with fans of the genre while also being experimental with their sound.
‘Red Room’ is one of those songs that may not be instantaneously addictive but definitely creeps up on you – before long you’ll find yourself singing it all day, every day! It reminds me of an era of underground music venues filled with smoke and edgy bars in South London.
I shall be joining with their fan base and eagerly awaiting their next release, confident that they can reach the high bar that they have set themselves. I’m sure whatever they surprise us with next will be just as creative and addictive as this sound.
