Critically acclaimed pop star Cat Burns releases two new tracks entitled ‘People Pleaser’ and ‘Sleep At Night’. Previously releasing her debut EP ‘Emotionally Unavailable’ earlier this year and collaborating with Sam Smith, these two recent releases set Cat Burns as an artist to watch.
What can only be described as witty, pure and honest, ‘People Pleaser’ relates to fans lyrically and has created a large impact within the first month of release. ‘People Pleaser’ is sonically very similar to the likes of early Nina Nesbitt as it incorporates simple but effective melodies while performed with personality. With the vocals elevated above the instrumentals, Cat Burns cleverly layers sections of the song to create more depth in her vocal performance.
Discussing ‘People Pleaser’, Burns said: “‘People Pleaser’ is what it says on the tin, my struggles with being a people pleaser and why I am one.”. When talking about all things ‘Sleep At Night’ she added: “’Sleep At Night’ is a really personal song for me; it’s about being deeply hurt and wronged by someone but deciding to take the high road and not say anything bad about them because you’re a good person.”
