The Guapos New Single “Nunca Te Quise” is Here

The much-anticipated debut album from The Guapos is right around the corner, and the anticipation is bubbling over with the release of their newest single and music video, “Nunca Te Quise.”

The four members of The Guapos – Adán Jodorowsky, El David Aguilar, Jay de La Cueva and Leiva – have a long history in the music scene which has culminated in this one unique project. “Nunca Te Quise” is described by The Guapos as containing ironic lyrics with “very sweet music” to contrast.

This message of contradiction is apparent in the music video, directed by Charlotte Kemp Muhl, which begins with a “just conclusion” (the lyrics of the song) in the form of an unidentified assailant appearing in the strange reality the video takes place in. The production of “Nunca Te Quise,” which was recorded at Reliable Recorders studios in Chicago, is the work of Adan Jodorowsky with help from experienced director Kenji Katori and producer La Catrina.

The video was cleverly filmed in both Mexico City and Queretaro over two days and speaks to a certain nostalgia building even before the release of their debut album. The Guapos are not content to rest on their laurels and have already announced a tour of Spain in June and July where they will be performing at the main summer festivals.

This is exciting news to all their fans both old and new, and the anticipation for their debut album is at an all time high. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open for The Guapos: a unique project backed by experienced musicians, reinventing the classics for a modern audience with their own brand of catchy lyrics and danceable rhythms.
