Supriya Nagarajan is releasing her new Anti-LightPollution Album Posse of Fireflies rallying the troops Supriya is hoping to achieve bringing the memory of her native country’s vibrant dark skies to the UK.
Not only is this album supporting a great cause, it represents a first for World Music, mixing traditional South-Indian sounds with electronic elements to capture the fireflies that illuminated the artist’s childhood 30-hour coal train trips from metropolitan Mumbai to rural Madras.
What a beautiful concept with an equally beautiful cause. Wouldn’t you agree? I think we could all get behind Supriya’s project and do more to reclaim the night sky.
