Hey head in the soundcloud’ers! Quite recently I was struck with an epiphany riding the bus home from work, the typical scenario for such things I realise, which is that fringe culture seems to have faded from the mainstream light!
Now this is fairly characteristic of fringe culture I realise but, regardless, the hype train seems to be out of coal. With that said let me introduce you to one-women performer Stefanie Rummel and allow her to reignite the spark that helps counterculture burn bright!
Rummel is a decorated performer in her own right and will be taking her acclaimed solo show, Chansons , to the ever-eclectic Edinburgh Fringe Festival on it’s 75th anniversary!

I know this will be a string of showcases to remember with the cabaret style boasting the swagger and charisma that have won Rummel the hearts of audiences across the globe having taken Chanson to New York, San Francisco, New Zealand and Iceland! Well travelled would be the understatement of the century I think!
Speaking on the Scottish venture Rummel has remarked: “I wanted to give audiences a taste of the French way of living without the need to travel and especially without the jet let! It gives people an opportunity to look at other cultures and reflect wonderfully on your own life and be inspired! How do we spend time? What is important to us in life?”
A fitting sentiment to a show that is known for provoking such an emotive response!
Fortunately, for my sanity’s sake, it is not just me that can see Rummel’s genius! The show has racked up five awards including categories “Best Composition”, “Best Music Video”, “Best Female Musical Singer”, “Best Female Pop Singer in the German Rock and Pop Award 2022 and for good reason!
If you have but one thing that you plan on doing this year, see this show.
