Emika Love is back with her latest single, “Bad Day Not Life”. The track, produced by Max Bitov (trapninjaboy), is a feel-good anthem for anyone experiencing the ups and downs of life.
Who is a new artist (or ‘new frequency’) that is yet to receive proper attention?
“A new artist that is yet to receive proper attention is Benson Price Jones. I met him at an open mic once in LA and he was super cool. He brought out this auto-tune voice maker and it was such a vibe. Also, he is just all-around dope and very passionate when it comes to music. “
What’s the best way for a new artist to break out of obscurity?
“The best way for a new artist to break out of obscurity is through marketing and taking advantage of every opportunity that crosses your path. As an artist I take opportunities no matter if big or small, the small can always add up to big. Sometimes I might not have the means to show up to an event but I find a way. THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY!”

What were your first steps into the music industry like?
“My first steps into the music industry started with many steps before. I built so many different aspects from making poems to, making clothes, directing, dancing, going through different experiences through life, modelling, guitar class, and many more that all combined into one huge music project which led to my passion in the industry.”
When did you decide that music would be your chosen path?
“I decided that I was chosen for this music path because it became a lifestyle. Being able to be there in spirit and have an impact on people’s lives I think is so beautiful. It’s deeper than just music I’m healing and helping people’s lives and making them feel powerful within themselves.”
What’s your favourite album of the year so far and why?
“My favourite album of the year is probably Lana Del Rey, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. The reason being it gives such an angelic feel and all around amazing projects.”
