Exploring the Sound of “We Are The Tartan Army”: Scotland’s Latest Football Anthem

Scottish football fans, rejoice! A group of dedicated music artists have answered the call for a new anthem for Scotland to take to victory. Introducing “We Are The Tartan Army” – a powerful and spirited track that is set to ignite and unite.

This masterful production is the result of a fusion between a mutual love for 90s and 00s house and techno, and unwavering pride for the national team. With a deep admiration for the iconic Primal Scream chant, “here we f*cking go,” band member Andrew was determined to give the Scottish team a similar treatment. And so, he joined forces with acclaimed electronic music producer Guy Fforde, known for his viral breakdowns on YouTube, to create a Fat Boy Slim-inspired track that is sure to get stadiums roaring with the chant, “We Are The Tartan Army.”

Not content with just one version, Tartan Army ’24 have released three different mixes of the track. The German Acid mix takes the dance elements to a whole new level, while the Shebahn Aherne mix, dedicated and blessed by the legendary sports broadcaster herself, adds a unique and dynamic twist to the already electrifying track. It was during a late-night writing session that the idea for the Shebahn Aherne mix was born. Frustrated and exhausted, the duo decided to take a break and turned on the radio. To their delight, they stumbled upon Shebahn’s TalkSport show and her words of inspiration reignited their creative spark.

Fuelled by this newfound energy, they got back to work and the result is a remix that is sure to get audiences pumped up and ready for the game. The Tartan Army and football fans alike can now partake in this exciting anthem, available on all platforms. So crank up the volume, clap your hands, and join in the chorus of “We Are The Tartan Army” as Scotland takes on Germany on June 14th in Munich during this year’s Euros. Let’s show our team and the world what we’re made of – passion, pride, and unwavering support for our beloved Scotland.
